Abstract
What role does the qualitative methodology play in the research of the satisfaction in romantic relationships? This is the question I will pursue in my speech. In the field of marital research, a quantitative approach has a long tradition.
The scientists were seeking and finding the factors that contribute to the dissolution of marriages with a hope that avoiding them may help save many relationships. Lately, there has been an effort to look at the topic from the other side and try to understand, using the qualitative methodology, what makes happy couples happy.
I will compare the two approaches and present the results of a qualitative research conducted in the Czech Republic. These outcomes will be compared with the results of similar foreign studies.
