The role of Croydon schools in a combat against community violence

Publication at Faculty of Education |
2019

Abstract

The aim of the conference, held on the 3 July 2019 in Croydon, London, was to present the results of a study on child and youth violence in the local community to provide more information on the latest findings and possible practices for pupils at risk of community violence. The results of the study show that this current problem needs to be addressed systematically, using community resources and trauma sensitive approaches.

Croydon schools are strongly motivated to support pupils and their families in difficult life situations in an effort to mitigate the impact of adverse childhood experiences on the child's further development and to prevent the transmission of inappropriate behavior patterns.
