Microstructure of beta solution treated biomedical Ti15Mo alloy prepared by HPT and ECAP

Abstract

Metastable beta titanium alloy Ti-15Mo (wt.%) was subjected to severe plastic deformation by high pressure torsion (HPT) and equal channel angular pressing (ECAP). Non-homogeneous and ultra-fine grained (UFG) material was achieved.

In-situ electrical resistance measurements showed significant changes in phase transformations' sequence when compared to the non-deformed material.
