Accelerating Taub-NUT Black Hole

Abstract

We describe an exact solution of Einstein's field equations which represents an accelerating black hole with a NUT parameter. This solution was found by Brenda Chng, Robert Mann and Cristian Stelea in 2006, despite the expectations.

Our effort was mainly focused on four tasks. First, we had to verify whether it is really a vacuum solution.

Thereafter we investigated its physical properties and especially its algebraic structure. Thus we have proved that the accelerating Taub-NUT does not belong to the Plebański-Demiański family of spacetimes.

We made visualisations of pathological regions, which helped us to understand the physics represented by this solution. Finally, we tried to understand how this solution is related to other known classes of solutions.
