Abstract

The article offers a review of the first comprehensive collection of texts on the topic of Autonomous Weapons Systems ("AWS") written by experts from the field of international law, robotics, politics, sociology and philosophy. The contributions in the book focus on three thematic clusters of issues related to AWS, i.e. the notion of machine autonomy, the concept of human dignity and the accountability for the actions of AWS.

The review is structured accordingly and draws attention to the most inspiring contributions. The book contains contributions by twenty-one experts from the field of international law, robotics, politics, sociology and philosophy.
