Abstract
The text aims to explain the broader context and biography of Julius Nestler, high school teacher of German origin and amateur archaeologist, who at the beginning of the twentieth century undertook a voyage to Bolivia, realized excavations in the ruins of Tiwanako and brought to Prague a unique collection, deposited now in the Náprstek Museum in Prague.
