Publication at Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen |
2019

Abstract

The book Introduction to Internal Medicine is intended primarily for students of medical faculties, however, it will also be beneficial for aspiring doctors in internships and residency. Its main content is internal propedeutics, i.e. instructions on how to correctly take a medical history and physically examine the patient.

In addition, it provides basic information on the most commonly used laboratory, functional and imaging methods in individual fields of internal medicine. Special chapters are devoted to situations the internist may encounter every day, namely: examination of a patient with a suspected acute abdominal event, fundamentals of neurological examination for internists, nutrition issues and monitoring of patients in intensive care.
