Abstract

The study is devoted to the topic of humour as an effective tool and indicator of quality education. It proceed from the master's thesis called Humour in Art Education.

It contains the findings gained by a qualitative research study of manifestations of humor in art education based on direct observation of teaching with three art teachers using Mayring's Qualitative Content Analysis. As the main aim of the research was determined to map the utilization and character of humor in teaching with three art teachers.

The survey is interpreted in the context of theoretical bases of humor in connection with visual arts and pedagogy. As for the interpretation of research findings on the sample, three areas of manifestations of humour were defined and the character of humor in art teachers' concepts of education was differentiated according to particular teachers.
