The article deals with the main principles and instruments of EU Directive 2009/147 on the conservation of wild birds, including judicial case law on this directive. It further analyses the legislation on the protection of birds in Czech law, namely Law no 114/1992 Coll., on Nature and landscape protection, which transposed this directive.
In both European and Czech legislation, the author observes the elements of protection of birds within the framework of agricultural performance. In conclusion, it examines the possibilities of implementing the responsibility of agricultural entrepreneurs in the protection of birds.
