Abstract
Unlike natural sciences, social science research, including political research, is conducted within several major research traditions: explanatory research, interpretative research and critically research. Each of these research traditions is based on different epistemological bases and thus represents specifically a way of exploring social reality.
The differences between these research traditions (explanatory, interpretative and critical research) are presented in this chapter.
