Abstract

In my presentation I focus on comparing the conception of the aesthetic synthesis in the thoughts of two authors of German critical theory, Theodor W. Adorno and Albrecht Wellmer.

The aesthetic synthesis, i.e. the organizing principle of art, enables both authors to develop ideas on the ability of art to integrate the aspects of reality which are otherwise on the periphery, suppresed or excluded.
