Abstract
Pre-school education is the center of attention of a pre-school child with all its specifics and needs. In order to better understand the principles of the current declared concept of personality-oriented education, we outline the genesis of opinions on the value of childhood itself, which makes it possible to better explain the child's position in the educational process as a subject.
