Abstract
The paper describes a yearlong internship of a PhD student at the University of York in the United Kingdom during the academic year 2018/2019. The process, organisation of the study, benefits and difficulties are reflected.
This contribution should serve as a appeal for PhD students who are considering a long-term stay abroad and would like to develop their scientific and research work.
