Abstract
Johann Wolfgang Goeth's Faust by using Czech translations. The reason for the contribution is the current production of Faust in the Estates Theater, for lower authorization of the creation of new adaptation translations of this work.
The first section summarizes the history of Czech translations of Faust, the second part of the paper shows a behind-the-scenes look at the origin of a new translation. The third section presents a comparative example of all the existing translations and the fourth part evaluates the view of the translation of the drama from the perspective of the principles set by Jiří Levý (with a view of important literary works).
