The paper summarizes the main principles of bioethics, ie applied ethics, which deals with problematic science topics. The article describes the benefits of bioethics teaching and its limitations and notes how bioethics is reflected in the Framework Educational Program for Basic Education.
In the second part, the paper describes the experience of elementary school graduates in teaching ethical science topics. The research was carried out among the pupils of the first year of natural science oriented four-year grammar school in Prague, it was a questionnaire survey.
Thematically, the survey focused mainly on biomedicine, relevant mainly for the subject of natural history, respectively. biology. Research has shown that bioethics at elementary school is not often paid much attention, the teacher usually explains the topic, but even so pupils enjoy these topics.
