Abstract
This chapter deals with the crime of negligence of mandatory support under s. 196 of the Czech criminal code. The attention is paid to the question of criminalization of the conduct described in s. 196 (1) of the Criminal Code and the effectiveness of punishment of such conduct.
In the chapter, the author further evaluates the amendments to the penal regulations that concerned the crime of of negligence of mandatory support. The chapter also introduces foreign legal regulations of this crime, which could eventually serve as inspiration in the case of a change in domestic law.
