Václav Chaloupecký and Polish historiography

Abstract

During the interwar period Czech historian Václav Chaloupecký (1882-1951) was in quite intense contacts with Polish historians, whose works - especially in the field of medieval history - he reviewed, as well as his books were reflected in Polish historiography. His contacts with Stanisław Zakrzewski and Władysław Semkowicz in the interwar period and with young Gerard Labuda after 1945 had special importance.

The text is focused on the evolution of this contacts and on Chaloupecký's tasks in the field of economic cooperation between Czechoslovak and Polish universities.
