Abstract
It is focused on the American Scouts Colony which was in operation in Rožmitál pod Tremšínem. First of all, the then characteristics of Czech scouting are summarized.
Furthermore, the study depicts the scouting program, development of the colony, and application of scouting educational method. With respect to the fact that in case of the colony we cannot consider educating the youth within the colony as scouting, there have already been several opinions to support that.
The author is inclined to the opinion that Hofmeister's experiment with scouting existed, but it was different scouting to Junák - Czech Scouting, the largest Czech scouting organization.
