Abstract
In the third chapte of the book are discussed various aspects of the doctrine of marriage as they are formulated in the work of St. Augustine.
First, the goods of marriage, as treated in Augustine's early works, in his polemics with the Manichaeans and with Jovinian are presented. In the second part of the chapter, the case of Ecdicia is discussed as a case study of Augustine's approach to marriage and sexuality.
