Abstract
The first biography of John Duke of Görlitz, which is based on the sources (accounts, historiography, charters). It is a completed and revised german version of the original book in Czech.
The authors understand John as an example of an late medieval Duke, for whom a new territory was partly artificially created. His life, political activities, church foundations, court and his second life are analysed.
