CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning in mathematics: Theory and practice

Publication at Faculty of Education |
2019

Abstract

The lecture focused on teaching mathematics through a foreign language (CLIL method). The CLIL method refers to the teaching of a non-linguistic subject such as mathematics through a foreign language.

CLIL suggests an equilibrium between content and language learning. Both are developed simultaneously and gradually.

It has dual focus. The attention was paid mainly to the following issues:  Characterization of CLIL,  Interaction of three languages (mother tongue, foreign language and language of mathematics,  Forms of using CLIL in school,  CLIL in teacher education.
