Abstract
Based on studies published in recent years, active therapeutic approach to patients with SPM, incl. those with a low GCS input value. Aggressive resuscitation treatment including blood transfusions and early surgical treatment to cleanse the wound and gun canal and possibly decompression craniectomy both lead to an increase in the survival rate as well as an improved functional status.
Minimalism in treatment is indicated in patients with GCS 3 and areaative mydriasis, or extensive bihemispheric injury.
