The present and future of Greek literature abroad - Czechia

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2019

Abstract

Translations from the Modern Greek language into Czech began during the 19th century. The long and powerful classical tradition, the commercial and political relations as they developed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries have drawn the Czechs' interest in contemporary Greek literature and folklore.

Then the Czech translators began to systematically and carefully select contemporary works.
