Rilke's "Duineser Elegien" : Interpretation (and declamation)

Publication at Faculty of Education |
2019

Abstract

The book is (like Rilke's earlier "Sonette an Orpheus": Interpretation and (translation)) directed against the patheticization of Rilke's poetry. The core of it is the interpretation of individual verses, strophes and poems, reflecting the translations of predecessors and the interpretation of Jacob Steiner.

This done, the pragmatic intention of the poet is defined. The book concludes with a translation in Czech highlighting how to declaim.
