Formative potential of experience education and social pedagogy

Abstract

The aim of the text is to highlight opportunities for the usage of experiential pedagogy in the context of social pedagogy. The text emphasizes options how social pedagogy can use cultivation power of experience and explains, why it is possible to understand social pedagogy as a form of a life help, which provides us with a wide frame for the application of experiential pedagogy.

Attention is paid to the theoretical explanation of formative potential of an experience in the context of the phenomenon of everydaynesss and the work of social pedagogues in practice. The programmes and activities based on experiential learning are referred to as a tool of tertiary prevention of children, youth and young adults, which may be targeted at the support of their strong character features and create opportunities for their personal growth and reintegration to the society.

The text is concluded by the presentation of the research results aimed at experiential pedagogy, which confirm positive impact of experiential programmes on children and youth. The methodological design of the text is based on the analysis of scientific literature, research and other resources and on theoretical synthesis of the findings.
