Wolf protection in the former Czechoslovakia

Abstract

Wolf (Canis lupus) is an animal that, by its presence and food preferences, causes significant conflicts in society. The journey from absolute hostility on the part of man to efforts to protect him was difficult.

Nevertheless, between 1948 and 1950, the wolf was granted a short period of protection in the former Czechoslovakia. The current acceptance of a wolf is, according to current research conducted e.g., by the Use of The Wolf. primary and secondary schools, still ambiguous, albeit more often positive or neutral than Negative.

This is also evident from the sociological survey to promote the protection of wildlife and its expansion in the Czech Republic, carried out among the general public. This lecture deals with the development of man's relationship with the wolf, especially on the territory of the former Czechoslovakia.
