This year, it has been ten years since the method of permanent brachytherapy was introduced in the Czech Republic as one of the treatment options for localized prostate cancer. In patients with a low risk of recurrence, the method has excellent results and low toxicity.
Its further advantages include the speed of execution and rapid return to normal life; therefore, it is increasingly sought by both referring physicians and patients. The review article deals with the method's advantages, its current indications and benefits, as well as with how the treatment has changed over the course of ten years.
