Abstract
The subject of the present study is the changes in Vatican's foreign policy during the World War I, whose greatest and bloodiest battles are commemorated on the occasion of their 100th anniversary. Despite the considerable attention of historians and the professional public, Czech historiography has not yet been able to map in detail the religious circumstances of the years 1914-1918 in the Czech lands.
