Pulmonary embolism caused by asymptomatic popliteal vein aneurysm

Publication at Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen |
2019

Abstract

The case report presents a rare finding - an aneurysm of popliteal vein. Despite a longterm asymptomatic course of the aneurysm, a pulmonary embolism may be a lifethreating complication.

It is important to search for its source in the lower limbs even in the absence of clinical symptoms of venous thrombosis.
