Liver Scafolding Set

Publication

Abstract

The Liver Scafolding Set is a system designed for flow or circulation decelularization of organs of large experimental animals. The kit allows efficient washing of all vascular structures of tissue of selected organs (in this case the liver) with detergents and other solutions (eg 0.9% NaCl) to complete decelularization while maintaining a high-quality extracellular matrix skeleton (scaffold).

The system consists of a sterile set of interconnected hoses, connecting and regulating components forming a single unit, which is inserted into three peristaltic pumps through which the flow rate of organs can be independently adjusted over a wide range from units up to thousands of ml / min. Simultaneously, the pressures of the solutions flowing through the organ are continuously measured.

The system also includes a system for collecting and pumping waste solutions using another pump. The set is designed to be sterilizable and can therefore be used under strictly sterile conditions.
