The Seventh Century in the Book of Kings and the Question of Its First Edition

Abstract

The accounts of the reigns of Manasseh, Amon, and Josiah in Kings do not testify in favor of an edition of the book in the end of the seventh century BCE, pointing rather to a first edition of the book during the "exilic/postexilic" period.
