Contemporary health law and medical ethics are permeated by the paradigm of the autonomy of will of the patient. The provision of sufficient information regarding the patient's health conditions and planned interventions is a necessary condition for the autonomy of will to be realised.
The article analyses and assesses the Czech legal regulation of free and informed consent from the perspective of equalization of information asymmetry in the physician-patient relationship. Special attention is paid to the scope and form of the provision of information.
