Abstract

Treatment of psoriatic arthritis should be guided by a rheumatologist in collaboration with a dermatologist or other specialist. The strategy for the treatment of psoriatic arthritis is based on the recommendations of the Czech Rheumatological Society, which follow international guidelines.

In mild forms of the disease, we use nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and intra-articular glucocorticoids, in more severe forms (polyarticular involvement, high activity, extraarticular manifestations) then conventional synthetic disease-modifying drugs (methotrexate, sulfasalazine, leflunomide, cyclosporin A). In patients with severe disease or inadequate response biological treatment (TNF-α inhibitors or IL-17 inhibitors) or targeted disease--modifying drugs (apremilast, tofacitinib) are indicated.
