How to prevent child sexual abuse: an overview of foreign primary prevention programs

Abstract

The review aims to present programs of primary prevention of child sexual abuse currently running in several foreign countries. The details of programmes from Germany, Canada, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Finland and Sweden are described.

The review focuses on commonly used methods of contacting the target group and provides the details of following intervention methods. The data on effectiveness of preventions programs are provided if available.

Finally, the review presents key elements shared by successful programmes and points out that our country is currently lacking similar systematic way of primary intervention.
