Abstract

Reformation is regarded as a 16th-century church movement, firstly the German, then the Swiss and the spread of these two movements in European countries. The Czech Reformation generally do es not fit into this concept.

German historiography from the 19th century considered John Hus and his ancestors to be the forerunners of the Protestant Reformation. In the middle of the last cen tury, Amedeo Molnár set up another model: the Reformation appeared everywhere where they wanted to restore the first Church ideas.

The Reformation is a phenomenon, which took place in two waves, i.e. the Waldensian movement and the Czech Reformation. In these, the emphasis is on the Scripture and on the Gospel of Grace.

Another wave of Reformation is the European Reformation, which started in Germany. Molnar's model had no particular resonance in the world, despite the fact that it was not brought up with any major counter-argument.

I think iťs time to get back to this model.
