An analysis of the transformations and use of the "loathly lady" motif in John Gower's Tale of Florent (Confessio Amantis), Geoffrey Chaucer's The Wife of Bath's Tale (The Canterbury Tales) and the anonymous romance The Weddynge of Syr Gawen and Dame Ragnell.
