Abstract

Baháʾi faith is usually described as one of fastest growing religions in the world. In following article I am comparing numbers of Bahaʾi adherents given by official Baha'i statistics and by Association of Religious Data Archives (the Arda) with numbers from latest censuses.

I am arguing that worldwide is less than 700 thousands active Baháʾist which is in conflict with numbers given by Arda and by Baha'i statistic (from six to seven millions of adherents). I am not trying to prove that data provided by Baháʾis are false or inflated but I am arguing that this data reflects good missionary results.

However since Bahaʾi faith lacks conversion rituals and collective rituals which would strength religious identity, I am arguing that Baháʾi faith isn't able to turn new converts into stable adherents.
