Abstract
Karel Čapek warned against superficial labaling of people and against simplification of sociopolitical realities. However, nowadays he is himself often a victim of those tendencies - both in on the level of his work and on the level of social and political opinions.
His entire work presents the opposite to extremism. Extremist positions are those from which he used to be criticized in his times and is often critized even today.
