Abstract

Combined cardiovascular procedure in apatient with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension and ischemic heart disease Pulmonary endarterectomy is a surgical procedure that is a method of choice in the treatment of patients indicated with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. Afraction of these patients is preoperatively diagnosed with other comorbidities which are treatable by acardiac surgery.

In our centre we treat these comorbidities in one procedure combined with a pulmonary endarterectomy. The aim of this case report is to demonstrate the management of these patients in our department and to present the results of combined procedures.

The patient presented below has undergone the pulmonary endarterectomy combined with acoronary artery bypass grafting. Shortly after the procedure there was adecrease of pulmonary artery pressure to normal values, an improvement of dyspnoea and total absence of chest pain.

This state has not changed for more than 5 years after the procedure.
