Abstract
The introduction of this paper presents Shanghai International Studies University which successfully opened the programme of Czech Studies in September 2018, probably as a reaction to current political affairs and increasing interest in learning Czech. This article is based on author's personal experience and perceptions who has been working at SISU in academic year 2018/2019.
