Abstract

The author examines the current situation in Czech schools with compulsory art education using the qualitative research methodology (Hendl, 2012). The researcher processes data obtained from various sources - questionnaire survey, unstructured and semi-structured interviews with teachers, cognitive dispositive.

The objective of this research project is to explore the teaching processes in art education in Czech schools and to find out whether and how teachers use contemporary art topics in their teaching practice.
