Lyudmila Petrushevskaya in the Czech Culture Context

Publication at Faculty of Education |
2019

Abstract

Lyudmila Petrushevskaya enters into the Czech literature context in the second half of 80 s of last century already. Her plays are translated and presented in Czech theatres.

Critics appreciate her innovatory and traditional Chekhov's impact at the same time. Prague's play "Three girls in blue" and Ostrava's "Cinzano" is considered by critics as the best.

Unlike Petrushevskaya's drama plays, her rich prosaic creation, apart from few magazine translations, hasn't been discovered by Czech culture environment yet.
