The article deals with one of the most famous European scholars in the age of Enlightenment, John Amos Comenius, particularly with his theology and pedagogy, which are heavily influenced by pansophic ideas. Comenius' interpretation of God is reflected upon as well as his attitude towards nature and creation influenced by philosophy.
In the second part of this article the pedagogical system of John Comenius is displayed, particularly with emphasis on the syncritical method.
