Duplex Doppler ultrasound of arteriovenous fistulas for hemodialysis

Abstract

Duplex doppler ultrasound (DUS), which is relatively inexpensive, rapid, non-invasive and repeatable is powerful tool used for early diagnosis of vascular access complications in hemodialysis patients. This review examines the numerous role played by DUS in the postoperative follow-up of vascular access, including maturation and surveillance.
