Vitamin D and vitamin K in association with osteoporosis

Abstract

The osteoporosis is becoming a global public health problem. An early detection of osteoporosis is minimal because it is asymptomatic for a long time.

This usually leads to the recognition of osteoporosis only after the fracture, most often in the hip or vertebrae. Fracture is usually caused by inadequate force.

Vitamin D levels have been booming in recent years. Some food producers are already making vitamin D fortifications.

This could have a positive effect on reducing fractures, as surveys show that the entire population is deficient in vitamin D. The determination of vitamin K levels is only for research purposes due to the long-term of sample preparation.
