Two Victorian ladies Mary Shelley and Ada Byron are not very often associated. The popular steampunk literary series for children The Wollstonecraft Detective Agency by Jordan Stratford, in which little Mary and Ada pretend to be detectives, is among a few exceptions.
Mary was a writer, Ada was a mathematician, Ada was one generation younger than Mary, they didnt have much in common at the first glance. Yet they had much in common - and they still have.
If we look into their biographies, we can find some similarities: both came from famous families, received highly above-average education, they both achieved success and fame, but also lacked some personal happiness.
