Abstract
The article aims to analyse the book Imagination and Thought in the Play of History written by Jiří Pechar in 2017. It highlights the importance of Jiří Pechar as a chief authority in Czech phenomenology, psychoanalysis and literary theory and considers his thoughts exposed in the present book not only against the background of his own theoretical work, but of the most significant thinkers in Czech philosophy and literary criticism, such as Jan Patočka and Václav Černý.
