In 2018, the European Society of Cardiology issued updated guidelines for the management of cardiovascular diseases during pregnancy. Article deals with a selection of these new recommendations concerning the issues that can be encountered in the GP and Gynecologist's outpatient clinic.
These issues include diagnosis of cardiovascular disease in pregnancy, risk assessment of the maternal cardiovascular complications, risk of obstetric and offspring complications, questions and problems of diagnosis and management of arterial hypertension, arrhythmias, and overview of permitted and contraindicated drug therapy in pregnancy
