Abstract

The case report describes a patient with arterial hypertension and repeated attacks of palpitations and states of weakness. Echocardiographic examination was also indicated due to history of palpitations and ischemic stroke in the patient's mother.

Transthoracic and subsequent transesophageal echocardiography showed finding typical for left atrial myxoma. This diagnosis was subsequently confirmed histologically after cardiac surgery.

The most common clinical symptoms encountered in this disease are discussed.
