Jans Enikel, Otakar Štýrský and Jan of Viktring described the history of the Kingdom of Bohemia from the perspective of the inhabitants of the Austrian countries from the mid-13th to the mid-14th Centuries. The first two - a resident of Vienna and a Styrian nobleman - wrote their works in Middle High German (Mittelhochdeutsch) in verses, the abbot of the monastery in Viktring (Carinthia) in a prosaic form in Latin.
All three mentioned chroniclers were primarily interested in foreign policy and rulers. Jans Enikel and Otakar Štýrský preferred to describe the festivals and battles, for Jan of Viktring the diplomatic negotiations were more important.
These differences are probably due to the different audiences of the individual chroniclers.
